“There She Goes” by Sixpence None The Richer

“My favorite summer song is ‘There She Goes’ sung by either Sixpence None the Richer or The La’s, happy either way. It makes me think of wandering a beach or a park in a flowy dress with a floppy hat in the lovely sunshine.” —Robin

“Sunset Lover” by Petit Biscuit

“This song is by a French DJ, and it gives me all the nostalgic summer vibes because I discovered it while backpacking Europe four summers ago. Electronic dance songs like this tend to be my soundtrack for sunny days by the water with a beer in hand and not a care in the world!” —Rachael

“Summer in the City” by Lovin Spoonful

“It’s got it all going on.” —Dave

“Leave Me Alone” by I Dont Know How But You Found Me

“I’ve been vibing with it recently.” —DJ

“Doin’ Time” by Sublime

⚠️: Contains mature content and/or language

“Ah, the power of sampling at its best, rockin’ that SoCal summer vibe! You won’t find many songs that originate from operas (Porgy and Bess) that have been covered by jazz flautists (Herbie Mann) that have been heavily sampled to create truly original ska punk music. Musically it’s genius, and the lyrics are amazing too! “Oh, take this veil from off my eyes. My burning sun will someday rise”…love that line! Lana Del Ray recently did a cover of this song. Although it’s not the original, it’s a great cover and it makes me happy to see her schoolin’ a whole new generation on the awesomeness of Sublime.”—Victoria

“Solar Power” by Lorde

“My summer song is ‘Solar Power’ by Lorde. She just released this song last week and I already know I’m going to have it on repeat all summer. She talks about seasonal depression and how the sun just fills you with energy and shines the blues away!” —Todd

Synthesizer” by Electric Six

⚠️: Contains mature content and/or language

“I didn’t know this song was going to get me into a summer mood until I was road-tripping across Northern Nebraska. When this came on my iPod, I just knew that summer had started. Fun, dancey and just dang catchy, I think this might be my summer song for years to come.” —Alison

“Two Shoes” by The Cat Empire

“The Cat Empire is one of my favorite bands that does not come to the US enough. Their Melbourne, Australia background dictated a marriage of traditional summertime seaside styles (rocksteady, latin jazz, and ska) with funk, hip-hop, swing, and even new wave. This particular song references several favorite summertime activities and the king of summertime songs, Mr. Robert Nesta Marley.” —Jack

“Soak Up the Sun” by Sheryl Crow

“I like her music.” —Liz

“I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers

“This song instantly transports me back to my summer camp days. We would scream the ‘Da da da’ part at the top of our lungs every time it came on the camp radio station no matter where we were or what we were doing.” —Taylor
