For the past two years, we have been inviting our patrons to “FIND YOUR CENTER.” Judging by the number of seats filled over the duration of the 17/18 season, many folks have done just that!
We want to thank all of you who came to see a show, visited our art gallery or held an event here. Because of your support and patronage, we are able to continue doing what we do best — delivering the best arts, culture, entertainment and customer service in the region to the Fort Collins community and beyond.
We’re proud to say that over the past season, we have amassed many successes that we’d like to reflect on and acknowledge.
Arts Education
The Lincoln Center takes its commitment to arts education very seriously, and it has been another amazing year for us. With the help of the Lincoln Center Support League, we connected 4,689 students and community members with world-class professional artists at 17 different events during the 2017-2018 season. Poudre School District students enjoyed shows like Siro A, where they were able to experience the dazzling special effects of an international dance troupe, and Bill Blagg, who sparked excitement about science through the use of magic and illusions. Students even got the rare opportunity learn from and to jam with blues legends William Bell, Bobby Rush, and Charlie Musselwhite!
There were also numerous Master classes held this season with the artists from our Classical Convergence and Dance series — including the world’s most famous brass group, Canadian Brass, and the landmark contemporary dance group, Martha Graham Dance Company.
40 Under 40
This year, the Lincoln Center was proud to partner with BizWest and host the 40 Under 40 event, a celebration of the region’s best and brightest young professionals who are shaping the business communities of Northern Colorado.
ArtWear
Every two years, the Lincoln Center Art Gallery hosts ArtWear, a fashion extravaganza that raises money for our Visual Arts program. This was a monumental year for us, with more people participating than ever before. A big thank you to all the volunteers and models that graciously gave their time to make this an incredible event!
Free Programming
The Lincoln Center strives to provide programming that is accessible to everyone. This past season, we presented the Air Force Jazz Band, The Falconaires for a great show that was completely free to the public. In addition, the Lincoln Center Support League continued their long tradition of presenting free children’s summer programs that feature acts that excite as much as they enlighten.
OneBeat
This year we were pleased to be a part of bringing diversity to the local music scene with our partner The Music District. OneBeat | Listen Global, Act Local brought musicians together from all over the world to collaborate and talk about how we can build resilient communities through music. This successful collaboration culminated in an amazing artist collective performance in the Magnolia Theatre.
PostSecret
PostSecret: The Show helped us to address issues surrounding mental health. Leading up to the show, we hosted free events in partnership with our Season Sponsor UCHealth that addressed depression, mental health issues for children and adolescents, and suicide prevention training. We also had a mental health resource table staffed by professionals before and after PostSecret: The Show.
Costume Drive
In conjunction with Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, The Lincoln Center ran a costume drive to benefit The Junior League Career Closet and Realities for Children. Thanks to the community, we received over 250 items!
Full-capacity crowds
With shows like Cinderella, Jersey Boys, Black Violin, and The Moth, our performances are more vibrant than ever and attracting new ticketholders from every corner of the community.
Dementia-Friendly
The Lincoln Center prioritizes serving the community and its needs. Since becoming the first business in Northern Colorado to receive the official dementia-friendly designation, we’ve partnered with the Fort Collins Symphony’s B Sharp program and have renewed our commitment to making all of our patrons feel welcome and comfortable.
We hope you’ll agree, it’s been a fabulous season. As we close this chapter, we can’t help but look forward with much excitement and anticipation to our next season – our 4oth anniversary season. We thank you for your patronage and support this past season and we hope you’ll join us again for the 18/19 season and our year-long, 40th-anniversary celebration!
