The Jokers Go Wild

We’re holding a no-limit laugh fest, and whether you’re a poker player or not, you’ll want to buy-in as our lineup of celebrity jokers get set to go wild! We’ve upped the ante with four (yes, four) big-bet, hysterical comedians hitting the stage in the next few weeks. It’s dealer’s choice as to which show you pick but one thing is a sure bet, everyone who has a seat at this table will hit it big with hoots, howls, cackles and the big ace—side-splitting belly laughs.

Perhaps the wildest joker in our deck is Fortune Feimster, with her March 10 show at 7 p.m. already sold out and her 9:30 p.m. show selling quickly. This busy comedian, writer and actor is “running good” and is seemingly everywhere right now, from radio to the big and small screens and on the comedy circuit. Her first Netflix comedy special, Sweet & Salty, was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Comedy Special. Fortune gained fame on the hit show Chelsea Lately and has appeared in numerous films and TV shows like The Mindy Project.

We’ll sweeten the pot when Demetri Martin stops in on his national I Feel Funny Tour on March 26. Although the 7 p.m. show is sold out, you can still catch him at 9:30 pm. Demetri’s bankroll as a standup comedian, writer and director is hefty. Demetri has released three standup comedy albums and four standup comedy specials, including his latest for Netflix, The Overthinker. He created and starred in his own television series for Comedy Central and two of his books are New York Times Bestsellers.

The cards are getting hot and we’re doubling down on April 2 at 7:30 p.m. with a man whose name is synonymous with comedy—George Lopez. It’s no bluff, this icon of comedy has been in the game for nearly three decades. To his credit, George has received numerous Best Comedy Album Grammy® nominations. His groundbreaking hit sitcom The George Lopez Show ran for six seasons and his autobiography, Why You Crying, reached the top 20 of The New York Times Bestsellers List.

And finally, we’ll see your bet and raise you once more as the grand kicker herself Rita Rudner brings this season’s wild joker run to a close on April 9 at 7:30 p.m. Over the course of a fourteen-year run and 2,000 plus performances, Rita’s show has become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas. In a town synonymous with gambling, the biggest winner by far is Rita, considering she has been named Las Vegas’ “Comedian Of The Year” nine years in a row.

There’s “a lot of action” going on at The Lincoln Center and there’s no better time than now to make your move and go all-in to score a jackpot of laughs so big that your sides and face will hurt for days! A Shining, Shimmering, Splendid Celebration

Backed by the bravery, courage and kindness of Disney princesses, Arielle Jacobs along with Broadway stars Susan Egan, Anneliese van der Pol and Syndee Winters will bring a “shining, shimmering, splendid” celebration to The Lincoln Center on March 13 for Disney Princess – The Concert. These former Disney princesses will be joined by magical Music Director Benjamin Rauhala and enchanting prince Adam J. Levy for an unforgettable evening of songs and stories.

Known for her many roles on Broadway and beyond, including her time as Jasmine in the Broadway production of Disney’s Aladdin, Jacobs shared with us what it means to bring these extraordinary characters to life on stage.

“To be able to play a character that’s going through a journey that’s challenging and then choosing to be courageous and brave and kind, that’s really what the Disney princess characters are all about,” says Jacobs. “They’re all courageous. They’re all kind. They’re all brave in their own way. To be able to make the choice in every song to choose those paths, that’s really empowering because as a person, I think most people might not feel so brave in their everyday lives. That’s why we look up to these characters and we are inspired by these characters.”

Disney Princess – The Concert is an immersive experience for any Disney fan regardless of age. The performance features live music and projected animations from your favorite Disney moments including songs from the live-action films and Broadway productions.

Sharing a name with a mermaid princess and playing another on stage, Jacobs has a unique connection with these characters, but her favorite part of the show is actually quite unexpected and she’s keeping it a secret.

“My favorite part is not one you would expect. We sing a song as a quartet in four-part harmony and it’s not actually a Disney princess song. It’s kind of like a jazzy 1940s Andrews Sisters arrangement,” says Jacobs. “You have to come see it because it’s a surprise.”

While you won’t see costumed characters on stage, Jacobs and her fellow performers encourage everyone to dress up and sing along.

“It’s a chance to come in celebration of any Disney character that you love,” says Jacobs. “Don’t be afraid to sing out with us. We love it.”

This performance contains surprises around every riverbend including Jacob’s favorite part of the show and behind-the-scenes stories from each of the actresses’ time playing the roles of Disney princesses. The opening number is also full of hidden gems.

“The very first song in our show is a new song that was recently released by Disney Music and recorded by Brandy. It’s called ‘Starting Now’, and it’s never been performed on stage before so we are the first people to perform it,” says Jacobs. “The lyrics are very cool because if you listen closely, you’ll hear the titles and words from Disney princess songs weaved into the lyrics.”

Get ready to sing your heart out at Disney Princess – The Concert at The Lincoln Center on March 13 by listening to ‘Starting Now’ on YouTube or Spotify. Seats from $20 at LCtix.com.
